Topic Title: Just Started SJW
| | "Just Started SJW" , Mon 10 Jan 11:33
About a year ago I was prescribed Lexapro and it seemed to work rather well. I got to feeling good enough that i stopped taking it and now I seem to be having problems. I thought I would like to take something natural to try to deal with the problems I am having. I am anxious and easily irritated, seem to be avoiding people and have alot of negative thoughts with worry. Sometimes for no reason I feel like I'm coming out of my skin. Exercise and sleep seem to help. I am taking the reccomended dosage of SJW and fish oil for about two weeks now and seem to be on a roller coaster ride. I have had some real good moments and some bad. I'm not sure if I should stay the course or add something for the anxiety or take out the fish oil. I considered adding passiflora or valerian but worry about interaction with the SJW. Any comments would be appreciated. I have battled this problem for many years and want to say that this forum is very helpful. I wish you all a cure but it's nice to know I have company. Take Care

Hughes, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I have used Valerium to go to sleep at night whilst being on St. Johns Wort and it worked fine. Valerium works slowly and takes awhile to build up in your system. Also Melatonin works for sleep as well and is natural. You can take SJW with Flaxseed oil as well and it works well together. Remember that the 900mg dosage can be upped or downed depending on your own body chemistry and how you are feeling. Personally I take 1800mg per day.

I would stick with it for a few more weeks at least. And you shouldn't have any trouble combining SJW with Valerian & Passiflora. I've tried it with no problems...

Yeah. I second that. SJW interacts well with valerian. As I've mentioned before, valerian is very easily "tolerated" and thus overridden by the human body, and should be staggered in its dosage frequency(i.e. as-per-needed). Chris
God bless!
