I've been taking Perika now for about twelve weeks, and while I'm not quite my semimanic old self, I'm way better than I was in the middle of the summer (when the bottom fell out on my emotional state) so on the balance it's a win.
Something else happened, and while I can't indisputably pin it on the Perika, I'd be curious to know if anyone else has had this experience with Perika or any other SJW preparation.
About eight years ago, I dropped something heavy on my right thumb. Although I didn't break any bones, it was black and blue for a while and the nail hasn't been the same since. It's been full of very pronounced lateral ridges, and several times the nail has actually split down the middle. Needless to say, it looks like hell.
Ok. Just about the time I started taking Perika, my damaged thumbnail began to grow out normally. Now, three months in, the portion of the nail that has grown out since I've been on the standard Perika dose (1 tab at breakfast and two after supper) looks better than it has since before I injured that thumb.
Maybe it's a coincidence, but 8 years is a long time, and timing just seemed, well, *precise.* Anybody else have any effects like this?
(I'm an otherwise healthy male in my early 50s.)

well,
there is a "skin" connection to SJW. two well-known side effects of taking SJW are skin rash and sensitivity to sunlight. now, i'm not a doctor, but i see it as given that SJW, for better or worse, manifests itself so obviously on the "dermal" level (that includes nails), so i wouldn't rule out a connection where your thumbnail is concerned. a positive effect, from the sound of it. now i'm curious to know from other contributors.
