Have been researching and trying to decide between having a go of Holy Basil or l-theanine. Last night I got the l-theanine and took 2 100mg caps straight away as I'd read it could be felt in about 20 minutes. I did feel something, but had to wonder if it wasn't just desperate hoping, I've been mega stressed lately. Took the same dose on waking this morning and I can definately tell the difference. I feel a calmness but surprisingly I also feel markedly less negative. Maybe it's the less negative causing the calm? It's like the nasty little nagging, grinding, negative gear in my head has been moved towards off. And, ok this is strange, but I feel like the curtains have been drawn and my brain is getting some sunlight. Like the noise has been turned down and I can recognize my own thinking. That's the best way I can describe it. I don't feel drugged or high.
I've previously purchased GABA, even thou I'd read it wasn't thought to cross the BB barrier, because I always felt like I needed something to calm my head. GABA didn't seem to do anything.
This link explains a bit about l-theanine and GABA.
Anyone have any similar experiences.
