After 4 years on different antidepressants I was getting worried about my 15 year old daughter. The media was badmouthing kids on antidepressants and she recently had her Lexapro doubled!! She always wants to try going off her RX and I agreed since it wasn't working very well(after doubling) or anymore. She was irritable ALL the time, argumentative and angry.
She was weaned off the Lexapro for just 8 days (Dr. suggestion) then I waited for her to request a new RX. In about 10 days she admitted she felt horrible and wanted to go back on RX. I had a bottle of Solary SJW waiting for her and within 6 days she seems happy, silly, pleasant and fun again. Is this cause and effect? I sure hope so. We are also hoping she will lose the excess 20# or so I feel the RX caused. She just takes 2 capsules, 600mg., and it seems to be working fine. I just wish I had found out about this alternative sooner - what a rocky 4 years of a child's life to waste! Can she stay on this indefinitely???

Yeah, she could probably stay on it forever. I've used St.John's wort for about a year now, and it has remained constant in it's effectivity.
