"brain fog / trouble getting going" , Wed 31 Mar 14:55

I've been taking SJW for about 2 weeks now, slowly upping my doses and experimenting to find out when is the best time of day to take it. I'm taking Walgreen's brand 300mg standardized extract. It seems to be "stronger" than the Naure's Way brand I used to take a few years back. I'm now starting to experience some side-effects. Now the brain fog has set in. Today I hard time functioning at work, hopefully it will pass. I'm now up to 600mg per day, and have been taking 1 tablet at night before bed and one in the morning. I think this is resulting in the brain fog. The fog lasts from when I get up until the late afternoon, then I am back to normal. Also, I have found that I have a little trouble going to sleep after taking it at night. Once I am asleep the sleep is very heavy. And then I am quite groggy in the morning. Hopefully this passes soon.

Your dosage might be too high. Too avoid the brain fog feeling (It's always there for me, with or without SJW) I take 200mg DMAE, it'll take about two weeks to begin functioning.

You also might want to try Gotu Kola in the morning, it can be bought at almost any healthfoods store. Start with 500mg and then up the dose until you feel you've reached a comfortable level. It's powerful stuff, you'll feel more socialbe and your energy level will skyrocket.

If that doesn't work try vinpocetine. It's a bit more exotic, so you might have to buy it online. I use 10mg when I need to get some work done. Neat Side Effect: Colors are really vivid when you take vinpocetine.

I just bought a SJW blend that includes valerian root,& lemon balm along with GABA & l-tyrosine & a few other things. Haven't been on in long enough though to tell the difference.

yes,
sjw tea i drink every day. it seems to go well together with valerian...no clashing. however, while sjw can be drunk (or popped) every day, valerian should be consumed in a staggered fashion, not systematically, for the body quickly develops a resistance...i mean, just smell the stuff...what body wouldn't resist? so, i take that in a tablet called "herbal insomnia", also containing hops and skullcap, etc. on an "as needed" basis.
(p.s. valerian was handed out to air-raid shelter occupants during WW2...did churchill's "V" sign stand for "valerian" as much as it did for "victory"?)

God bless!

Where did you get your "herbal insomnia"? Sounds like something I could definitely use since having insomnia/panic attacks the past month.

Thanks

dear silver,
the brand is "nature's harmony", by purity life health products, a canadian company (i'm canadian, not icelandic, despite what the flag would suggest). its full title is "herbal insomnia formula". i don't know your country of origin, or if it's available in your country, but you may contact: purity life, acton, canada, L7J 2X3. the phone number is 1-877-way-2-live.
i must apologize for a slight error in my previous letter. i listed skullcap as an ingredient in H.I.F. in fact, i believe that this is found in another, similar nature's harmony product, "herbal nerve". H.I.F. actually contains, besides valerian: passion flower, chamomile, hops, mistletoe, and wild lettuce.
i hope this might help you, wherever you are...
truly, ctomarctus

God bless!
