I am a board certfied psychiatrist, and during my 25 year career, I have prescribed anti-depressants succcessfully in many cases. My daughter, who was depressed, tok SJW, and it worked very well for her. I was very pleased to hear this. She told me about it.I began to research information on the Internet. I did not feel depressed, but I wanted to try it because of my daughter's good response and my knowledge of depression. I am pleased to say that I felt better taking it. The explanation,I think,is that the drug augmented neurotransmitors (probably seratonin), and this was why I had a good reponse.I experienced more energy and more capacity to concentrate on mental tasks. It did produce fatigue, so I will start to take it before going to bed.In conclusion, I felt it wise to report this since it is unusual for a psychiatrist to recommend this type of remedy for mild to medium depression (not the severe form). I do recommend it highly.
