Topic Title: Crazy reaction

Hey, Just started taking SJW as I had been feeling a bit down. Since then I have developed a full on rash all over my body. I had taken a tablet a day for 4 days and by the 3rd day I had developed a severe itch, when I scrathed it the area became raised. Now I am one walking itch and am covered from head to toe in little red dots and swelling, the plus side is at least I feel good about it. Anyone had any experience with this, and how long it may last as I have a wedding to go to (not mine)in a few days and I am scared I may frighten small children.

I had the same problem in the past, actually I still do although it is not as bad as it used to. The condition is called nettle-rash/urticaria/hives. The exact cause is not clear (there is plenty of information online). In my case it was started by an antidepressant, while the trigger is heat - whenever I feel overheated the rash would appear and then disappear whithin an hour when I cool down. You can't treat it - the key is to find what causes it in your case and avoid that. I would advise you to stop taking SJW. Other than that: it is my 10th day on SJW and I haven't felt that bad for years, in fact NEVER without the presence of an external factor. I've been off any medications/herbs for almost four months and I was much better. On the ohter hand, you may want to try 5-HTP, L-Tyrosine and Gingko Biloba, they somewhat work for me. The first of them was particularly beneficial, so that the effect was noticable for the people around me. Unfortunately its efficacy wears off rather quickly.
