"Introduction" , Thu 25 Sep 20:55

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and new to SJW. I started taking it 6 days ago for anxiety, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive (body dysmorphic disorder) and paranoia. I, like everyone realy, wanted to avoid the side effects of prescription anti-d's - compounded in my case as my serotonin problems were started by another medical drug I took in 1998.

Anyway, after 6 days I can say that I have experienced a bit more anxiety on the first few days but then had quite a good day yesterday with some mild euphoria even - which was very nice. I have been reading quite of bit of the posts here and realise I need to wait 6 weeks to see if SJW will work for me and I am committed to seeing this through.

So nice to meet everyone.

I like to keep things numerical so I have done some anxiety/social phobia tests and have been rated as having "Moderate Anxiety" (25 on Hamilton Anxiety Scale) and "Severe Social Phobia" (94 on Liebewitz(?) Social Phobia Scale).

Has anyone here had success using SJW for social phobia or body dysmorphic disorder?

Matthew

Gosh, I will just talk to anyone now that I take SJW. Another thing, some people just irritate the hell out of me now. Don't know why really. I also get quite irritated just after a meal if I eat the wrong thing. Also, coffee is starting to irritate me. Come to think of it, I'm just irritable right now. I should really stop drinking coffee, talking to irritating people, and eating irritating foods. Hope this helps, it certainly helped me :)

I'm getting the same effect as you willy. lots of things are getting on my nerves at the moment. Mainly people, especially my family and parents. I don't think it's a bad thing though, it feels more to me like a part of me that's been sidelined for a very long time, is coming back into the picture. Seems to me that being irritated by something is a sign that you could really do without it in your life, take what happens when you get a skin irritation from something, sensibly you avoid that something from then on. Previously after years of being bombarded by other peoples s**t I think I was gradually worn down, to the point that I didn't care anymore about anything. In not caring I was a person very hard to irritate, whatever happened wouldn't really affect me much, I was pretty numb to it. So I am glad to begin to feel irritated by things again.
