I started using SJW on Sunday 9-7 300mg 3 times a day for my mild to moderate depression, everything was fine unil this morning (Wed 9-10) when I opened my eyes the room was spinning and my stomach was feeling really bad, around 1pm I started to feel alittle better, feeling so bad for so many hours was worst then being depressed, I havent taken any pills today, I just dont know what to do at this point.
Does anyone have any suggestion, should I just decrease the dosage and see what happens? or should I just continue the 300mg 3 times a day? Im just scared the pain and the dizziness will come back and then I will be forced to give up on the pills whether I want to or not and that would very upsetting.

Candy did you resume the SJW or switch to another brand? What happened? I started SJW on Oct 2 (last Thursday) and on the 4th woke up in the very early a.m. with an intense pain in my head and then sick to my stomach and was that way all day. I was not a happy camper believe you me! I did not take any SJW that night and felt better the next day (5th) With trepidation I resumed the SJW that night (5th)and no ill effects, so maybe you situation was like mine, maybe a bug or cluster headache etc.
I'm treading lightly with the SJW taking only the 900mg at bedtime and as of yet nothing positive, OH with the exception of the first two nights I did sleep until the alarm awoke me which never happens due to my depression and anxiety I awake way before the alarm. I'd be happy to settle with just that, but that effect passed. I don't know if I should 'up' my dose or what. I'm worried perhaps the brand I bought isn't the best...

I could be wrong, but I bet it is not the SJW. It might be that you just got bug. It happens.

a couple questions for you, what brand are you taking? what makes you think that your sickness is the result of the SJW? I am not a doctor, nor am I an expert, but my common sense would pursuade me to either seek out a different SJW formula or give up on SJW all together if I thought it was making me sick.
It seems that you seem to be self medicating without any real guidance. Therefore I suggest that you read The Way of Herbs by Tierra and pick up a couple books that are devoted to SJW in particular.
I can tell you from personal experience, herbs in general and SJW in particular have given me my life back. But that's me. You are responsible for your own health.
