I thought I may as well post my experiences because there was a slight lack of them with this particular brand when I started taking it. I did not suffer from heavy depression when I started taking SJW - Im just in a rut after recovering from heavy depression but feeling like I would always be slightly depressed. I have never sought a doctor because tbh - Im not sure how much good it would do - I use several of my friends as a counsellor but as I remain consistently unhappy (due to a mentality brought on by general social anxiety dissorder) I wanted some clarity of thought to stop the occasional 'crash' I suffer. Sometimes the regularity of these crashes makes me suspect Im slightly manic bipolar and after reading SJW is no good for manics, I was apprehensive. The first week I started taking it I will admit I was watching its affect on my body closely. Taken on an empty stomach it made me feel awefully sick and I noticed slight but gradually reducing pains in my side. It jus made me feel uneasy overall but after about a week - it has no affect. Because its summer Im developing a morning reigime of anti-histemines [sp?] and 300mg SJW. So now over 4 weeks into SJW - I've realised something, I havent had a crash at all in recent weeks - I dont wanna remember when I last had one caus its depressing hehe. It has formed some sortof backbone to my emotions and I do feel like the world goes on despite intermediate emotions. Either Im not manic or it works for slight manics - Im afraid without me sitting down and being diagnosed, you'll never know :)
One side affect I have noticed is the photosensitivity - The sun is extremely strong recently and even on just 300mg, I can feel my skin burning slightly. Im one of those people who never wear sunscreen and end up with a natural looking tan but only where clothes werent :P hehe but I will have to change my habits on that front.
My overall assessment is that even a low dose of SJW has made a difference.
