Hi, everyone. New guy here!!
I've been using SJW for 4 weeks now and unfortunately noticed no positive effect. Judging by many posts here, I should wait a couple more weeks to evaluate it right??
However, I can safely say that I've experienced some unpleasant side-effects, i.e. increased sensitivity to sunlight (can barely keep my eyes open) and an emotional low the 1st time I got PROPERLY drunk, since starting it.
I take 333mg (0.33% hypericin) 'Quest' SJW per day.
Thanks in advance for any advice/replies :)

The recommended dosage is 900mg. I take 1200mg

OK, I've just run out of my Quest pills and bought a packet of Kira 'One-A-Day'.
According to the back of the packet, "each tablet contains 300mg of SJW extract, providing 900ug hypericin".
So although the box says 'One-A-Day', I can still take THREE, right??
Many thanks to anyone clarifying this for me :)

Sorry to say this, but the Kira pills are a pure rip off. Some legislation stops the company from putting the correct dose of SJW in the pills, so, yes, although they say 'one a day' you will need to take 3 a day to get the dose. There not the cheepest either!

I'm not sure about this 1-a-day thing you know. Not only because there was a post not long back on this subject but also beause Kira make a 3-a-day version AND a 1-a-day : I'm sure they wouldn't do this unless the concentrations were different.
In short - I don't think you should take 3 1-a-day tablets. Although here we are getting into the real problem about SJW - actually knowing how much you should take, it's a real problem.
True however - they are expensive!!
Can anyone else throw light on the subject!?

The 1-a-day Kira are each worth three of the 3-a-day Kira, so if you follow their dosage instructions there's no difference, except in convenience. Unfortunately, their dosage instructions are wrong. Well OK, not wrong exactly because the right dose is the minimum that works for you, but most brands on sale in the UK are recommending 1/3 of the dose that is commonly used in other countries. The same "1-a-day" Kira are available over the counter in the USA and some other countries, but there they recommend taking three a day, and they're about half the price they are in the UK. As Banana says, Lichtwer Pharma (who make Kira) have claimed that UK legislation prevents them from recommending the higher dose, but Quest say "1 to 3 a day" and haven't fallen foul of the law yet.
Judging by this forum, SJW is quite popular in the UK, so it's sad that the market here is so behind the times.

Oo, another thing I meant to add was that I too have experience sensitivity to sunlight - I think it's a well known 'side-effect'.

Since Kira, I've tried Tesco's (UK supermarket chain) own SJW and then Healthcrafts....they're both complete sh*t and I feel like sh*t. My advice to anyone reading: don't bother 'investing' in either brand!
Back to square-1 for me.
