"Dose and brand" , Sun 13 Apr 21:29

Hello everyone,

I started taking SJW about 3 months ago. I go back and forth now between 2 brands (Perika and Natural Foods Co-op). I started with 300 mg. and gradually worked up to 1,800 mg a day. It seems to work better for me at high doses. I am considering going to 2,100 mg. tomorrow.

One interesting thing that I have noted is that Perika, which is hyperforin standardized seems to give me an uplifting feeling whereas the Natural Foods Co-op brand is hypericin standardized seems to relax me. Mixing the two each day gives a really nice balance between enthusiasm and calm. I have taken each one independently for long stretches of time, so I "felt" that a mix would give the best of both worlds and I was right.

Any comments?

Best regards,
John-

It's interesting that you described Perika as more "uplifting" and another brand as more "relaxing." I find Kira relaxing, but it doesn't seem to do enough for my depression. With Perika I've had problems with side-effects in the past, but I'm (currently) trying it again because I think it may help my depression more. I haven't seen anyone else here who has mentioned this kind of difference among brands, so I'm glad to know I'm not alone in thinking this way.
