"Nightmares" , Thu 6 Mar 04:49

Hey gang,

I'm new to this and have some questions for you.

I started up on 5mg Paxil about 3 weeks ago.
The side effects ( emotional deadness ) were
horrible, and after reading some of the horror
stories on another board that were Paxil related,
I decided to stop using it.

Two days ago I began St.Johns Wort.
300mg in the morning, 300mg at night.
Day one I felt unusually angry at work.
(this could have happened for any particular reason)
Day two, or night two I should say, I had a nightmare.
This I do believe is attribitable to the St.Johns Wort.

I was wondering if any others in here have had
nightmares after taking St.Johns Wort??

Incidentally, I also take Ativan or Rivatril to
control panic attacks. The Paxil was originally
prescribed to get these under control.

So, for now I'm taking 300mgs SJW twice daily
with some Rivatril to control the anxiety.
I also take a multivitamin, vitamin B, E and
C also.

I hope the SJW can help with the anxiety attacks.
This nightmare thing is definitely a concern.
I haven't had a good nights sleep since taking
the Paxil 3 weeks ago and I'm wondering if SJW
is going to continue to prevent this luxury.

Any comments,

Jiddu

Hey guys whats up:

I started taking SJW about 4 days ago and actually last night I noticed an extreme increase in dreams as well. A few bad dreams but nothing really horrible. I've never remembered having this many dreams in one night. I usually never remember my dreams. I might have had a dream a month before. Last night I must have remembered about 6 or 7 dreams. It's weird. Didn't lose any sleep though. It did kind of suck however because I hate dreams.

I've only been taking St. John's Wort for five days.
But I have noticed an increase in dreams. They're not nightmares though. I just find that when I wake up I remember having several very vivid dreams. This hardly ever happened to me before I started taking SJW.
And it has actually helped me have a better night's sleep than I did before.
