My experience is positive yet weird. It's so positive that I'm wondering if it is not just the placebo effect.
I saw it in Sam's Club on tuesday (Member's Mark brand) and felt like trying it. I took it on wednesday, expecting to have to wait about 4 weeks to get any results. The funny thing is that I felt better within about 20 minutes to a half an hour. It felt like it had taken the edge off my anxiety and negative feelings and basically I felt "alright" which is a lot different then how I usually feel. I felt more in control of my feelings. The little annoyances that usually caused me to be depressed and sitting in front of the TV for hours- I was able to cope with. I was still annoyed but the annoyance didn't cause a domino effect of bad though and feelings. I also was more relaxed and happy to be around people. (I usually cant stand to be around and just can't stand people.) Another effect that I wasn't expecting is that I could sort of feel the pills wear off after awhile (about 8 hours or so) and it was back to my same miserable self. But after taking another pill I felt right as rain again in a half an hour.
The only side-affect that I felt was what seemed to me like an increase in appetite.
What I'm wondering is - where my results real or just a placebo effect since I wanted them to work. I was NOT expecting results right away or this fast though. I wasn't expecting them to work like (let's say)tylenol where you feel the results instantly and they wear off in some hours. I was expecting for me to have to take them for awhile and have the stuff build up in my system before I felt anything.
Do I happen to be one of the lucky few who get instant results or do you think that the instant results might have been more from suggestion than not?
Either way I'm going to continue to take them. Even if the active ingredient is just my imagination - it works! I'm happier and that's that for all I care.

I doesn't really matter why you've had success with the SJW. The fact that it is helping you is all that is important. I've often thought that the placebo effect has been a part of my herbal experience. I want SJW to work very much, and i expect that is part of its effect on me, but i also believe that it really has a chemical effect on my brain. For whatever reason i get a positive result from SJW and i'll take it, gladly. By the way, placebo is also a large part of expensive perscription medicine, and the drug companies gladly take credit for it. Just keep believing and taking your SJW :)

I too had immediate effect with SJW, same day. 2 weeks after starting to take it I had a bit of a relapse and felt very down. I did have a chest infection and I don't think that helped. Well, now, a week later I'm feeling cheerful and fairly positive again. Who cares if its placeebo, the mail thing is you're feeling better.
