"Safer than smoking.Better tasting than coffee" , Mon 11 Nov 11:13

I just bought a bottle of St. John's Worts. Approaching the counter, I felt a little nervous - a little anxious -, but then I figured that the NEXT time I purchased the counter, I wouldn't feel that way because I'd already be on the stuff.

Really, I'm just a teenager attending school with a little depression problem. Never visited a Dr., I mean, if you were the "strong one" all your life, would you??, so I just diagnosed and prescribed something to myself. Figured that smoking and drinking coffee all day to get my highs were getting a little too expensive. I mean, any of you from Canada? 15 bucks a pack. I'm already a broke schoolgirl.
*Anxiety. Walking through the halls with my head hung, holding my breath, and walking my fastest. (Not the smartest step after you begin holding your breath). All I wanna do is hold my head up, look in their eyes, and smile. And, hey, if self-confidence comes in a bottle, then I'm all for it.
*I sleep all day and all night. I'm just so tired, and, really, I love to sleep. It's my favorite time of day! Well, obviously. Look at me. I'm more frazzled then Kathy Grifford on caffine.
*And the crying. Love the crying. I mean, that damn anti-smoking commercial gets me everytime!! The one were the little girl walks through her grampa? Yah, that's a tearjerker.

I love this site though. I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into. So, now I'm a little more stressed. Yay.
*I love to tan. I'm a fake baking fanatic. So, do any of you have problems with tanning? Other than burning? Like, it's not some major health risk eh?
*I have major migraines, triggered by stress, and painful by sunlight. So, basically, I figured, hey, take this medication - gets rid of the migraines - so then you can step outta your house into the bright sunlight. Eh. Wrong!! "Sensitivity to sunlight." Any of you wanna buy my unopened bottle??
*I'm tired enough damnit, and I can't concentrate on driving already!! Okay, I can't concentrate on anything - driving mainly. So, just how tired does this miracle drug make you?

Oh my lordy. Am I ever stressed. I should take some medication eh??

Thanx. Brittanne.

Hey, thanks a lot you guys. You know, just when you fall down, and think that you'll never get back up, somebody comes along and gives you that little push. I just wanted to thank you two very much. I appreciate you reading my little "spaz attack" and, most of all, for replying. I guess today was a pretty hard day, among all the others - and your thoughtful words made me think twice about this world lacking kind, appreciative, and considerate people. So, thank-you - again and again. It means the world to me.
Brittanne

Harry: I actually love to write, I'll write anything and in any form - well, whenever I have a spare moment!! I never considered myself to be any good, but, you're right - It's awesome therapy! Thank you!

James: Thank you very much for your kind words and gentle advice.
You're right you know - all my life I've been on the go, I've never really had a spare moment to sit and just think. I think that is everybodies savoir in todays busy world. Unfortunately, people get so caught up in the busyness that they forget to take the time, in your words, to stop and smell the roses.
I probably should see a Dr. I guess though, in my case, I fear that I'm just a patient, and not somebody that actually cares about what causes me to be so anxious and nervous all the time. It's a diagnosis and a perscription that you'll receive (not to mention the bill), and not the understanding and empathetic atmosphere that I have received from here.
Maybe the support of people is what I need, and not a bottle of anti-depressants.

Just a thought Brittanne...you know, you do have a gift for the written word. I think you would do well to write...write a lot and who knows this may be great therapy for you.
Maybe you already write. Anyway, just a thought!
Harry

Hello Brittanne- Hope you are feeling better. Sounds to me like you need to slow down a bit and smell the roses. In my case the faster i go the more nervous i get. Find something you like and take your time doing it. Life has too much to offer to run through it never taking the time to know it. I take SJW to help with depression. I believe it does take away some of the worst symptoms, anxiety being one of the improved areas. Before you do start with SJW i believe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get checked out by a Doctor, just to be sure there's nothing physically out of kilter. A public library will have books about depression and anxiety, also about SJW. Many books will have self tests you can take to see if you have the symptoms of depression. If you do decide that SJW is for you, this discussion forum gives many ideas about dosage and brands. Stopping smoking and excess coffee will help a lot, plus maybe getting some extra exercise, walking is good, also relaxing. It takes awhile to become depressed and anxious. It will take time to undo the damage.
Good luck- fight hard, stay strong.
James
