Hi,
This is all a bit weird - never used disc.forum before. Quick story - if I don't sort out my depression soon then I think it will be the end of my relationship with someone who is so very special to me, therefore I have just taken my first pill of SJW (one a day Kira SJW). I was wondering whether anybody else has used this brand and whether it has proved to be succesfull ?

Dear Ferret:
I hope that the one tablet of Kira St. John's Wort you're taking just once a day contains 900 mg. and not just 300 mg. I think it's extremely unlikely that you would have any affect after juse ONE day on SJW. I was fortunate enough to feel the results in seven days (3 standardized 300 mg. a day)and I've now been taking SJW for 3 weeks, but many people need longer than a week for iti to kick in. If you'll read the information here on Kelly's Website, or any good book on the subject, you'll learn that you really must give SJW it a good trial of 4 to 6 weeks to obtain maximum effects. Be sure to take Vitamin B-Complex every day and let us all know how you're doing. Good luck.

I owe you a thank-you. becouse of your question about KIRA brand I did some back reading on this site. In the GENERAL DISSCUSION section of the disscusion forum on page 4 you will find comments on your brand. I also found comments on the brand and the specific dosage I am using. I was interpreting it wrong, 300mg powder, 175mg of extract(.3%). I was only taking 2 tabs thinking I was getting 600mg of what I need--wrong! So I have increased my dosage and I slept soooo well last night. It was great. I hope my good sleep continues. THank you,Thank you ferret.

ferret, this was my first time using a disscusion forum also. This site made me feel that I was not alone. I use Solgar brand. I am not familiar with Kira but maybe someone else is. SJW has worked wonders for me and I felt the effects as soon as 3-4 days after I started taking it. After a couple of weeks I began to feel that I was starting to get my life back. Hang in there. This site is great and reading other disscusions will help you get an idea of what you might expect. Elizabethe

Thanks very much for replying Elizabethe,
I have actually been feeling quite lethargic - in a 'heady' way - since I took the pill. In a way this is a good thing as I don't seem to be thinking the usual nonsense that normally clutters up my paranoid mind. Is this normal or could it be purely psychological ? (i.e. even the knowledge that I could be doing something to help myself is improving my mood.) I've read some posts referring to the lethargy but have read little about immediate effects of SJW. It feels as if something is definitely having a 'calming' effect.

Today was my second day on SJW, I also take Kira, but I take 3, 300mg tabs a day. I felt lathargic today as well...but thats normal for me ;) Actually I had a very weird day today. I had a few hours of great emotional distress for no reason...worse than normal...i hear that this can be normal for the beginning of treatment so...eh. I hope it's going well for ya!

Actually, it's not so great now. The person i referred to in my first mail finished our relationship last night. I'm gutted but think I should still take the SJW (?).

=( I'm so sorry to hear that...but maybe in a few day's they'll get to thinking and be more undertanding. Stick with the SJW I think...for yourself =)
