I've just come across <http://www.sjwinfo.org/>, and read this on the
mini-FAQ pages:

St John's Wort tea *can* have useful amounts of antidepressant chemicals in
it. I have a box of Heath and Heather (Holland and Barret sells the stuff
in the UK) SJW teabags next to me now which provide 0.24 mg hypericin per
serving, which is pretty close to the 0.3 mg hypericin per capsule which is
the standard recommended dose. The box also advises no more than 4
cups/day. The tea tastes *okay* to me, but probably a touch too bitter for
some.

These teabags are made in Germany, and there's a reference on the box to
`German E monograph BAnz 228' which implies that they're maybe a licenced
herbal medicine in Germany.

I suspect that very few SJW teas are useful - but this particular brand
does have a proper quality statement on it.

Rowland.
