I'm sorry you have to deal with anxiety at such a young age. Unfortunately, the teens and twenties are when these things may tend to start to show themselves however. I had started with panic attacks by the time I was your age. Since I am a mom and considerably older :) (grin), I would just like to make sure that if you do decide to try SJW that you will do so with the permission and knowledge of your parent or guardian. It's important because if you are one of those rare people with an allergy to SJW (people can be allergic to ANYTHING), however unlikely that may be, they should be aware. Also, hopefully they are aware of the anxiety issues and you have someone you can speak with who is supportive of you. If you don't, find someone! The "mom" in me is coming out.....but I've dealt with anxiety since age 14 (I'm 42 now), and my son in his early 20's has dealt with Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder and anxiety. I know how tough it can be, and I hope that SJW is the answer for you. Don't give up!!! Keep us posted on your progress! My son is starting on SJW for anxiety also, so I'll post how he does also! Best wishes to you!

yes kitkat, that is one thing that i can say is good for me. I feel PERFECTLY comftorable talking with my mom about how i am feeling. And i also read alot of information about certain drugs and how successful they are for certain people... my mom thinks im reading too much but im just informing myself so that i can better know what im going through, and how to get over it. How has your son been doing with the SJW, how long has he been on it, does it appear to be helping?

Right now he's not taking SJW. Presently he's "handling things ok", which means he's not without anxiety, but it's decreased enough that it's not imparing his life greatly, so he doesn't want to take anything and wants to wait and see what happens. I'll let you know if he starts up w/SJW. Of course, I hope that he continues to improve and will not need it - we're always hopeful, but it's good to know that there is help available without having to go to a doctor and be medicated! I think just knowing that and having the SJW in the house helps him feel more in control. How are you doing now? P.S. I'm glad you have a cool mom!

Yes! By all means try SJW. It should help with anxiety because it raises serotonin levels like Paxil. As far as safety it is very safe to take SJW. BTW, I started taking SJW for anxiety and it has helped tremendously and I was once on Paxil, so I should know if it works just as well.

There maybe some helpful insight for you in the "General Questions" section. That's where I was able to find out, here in the forum, about the possible side effects, drug contradictions and some other useful info about SJW.
