I'm very scared and dont now what to do--I have been taking SJW for about 2 weeks now and it doesnt seem to be helping. I'm not allowed to take and prescription meds-I have been diagnosed with moderate to severe depression. I am scared that I will have to live like this forever--help!

You say "neverending". How long is that? I been in the "valley of despair" for 6 years, and I think my diagnosis (mild-to-moderate clinical depression) was wrong. I did some research (www.mentalhealth.org, I think), and ran across another term of diagnosis: "dysthymia". The difference between the two is that "normal" clinical depression tends to be deeper but shorter (e.g. less than a year), whereas dysthymia is not as deep but chronic -- 6 years in my case.
btw, have just started SJW after many unpleasant and unhelpful experiences with anti-depressants (6 or 8 different drugs; I've lost count).
hang in there -- things can get better. zeke

I know the feeling!!! Try new stuff- i going to. Try KAVA KAVA (some say thats great for anxiety) Try 5htp (ive only heard good stuff about it) try Sam-e (apparently that acts quickly on depression) DONT WORRY, the fact that you are in a situation where you feel wrong means that you will come out feeling different- itwill stop you just have to persist, believe in yourself

I've been taking St.John's Wort on and off for 3 years. Lately I've been very depressed. I have some issues with relatives and relationships right now, that don't help. But I'm considering changing to Sam-E, just to try somehting different.
