Topic Title: Valupak - anyone in the UK tried this?
| | "Valupak - anyone in the UK tried this?" , Fri 6 May 09:31
I'm currently using the Boots one-a-day SJW (except I'm using it three times a day since the pills are 300mg and 0.3%). Seems quite good so far, if ridiculously spendy.
My local chemist has Valupak SJW, 1000mg and 0.3%. Has anyone moved from a more expensive brand to this brand and found it OK?

I tried it after using vega (which was great but ridiculously expensive) and it did absolutely nothing. It was only 99p for 40 though....I suppose you could take like 10 at once.
It's cheap for a reason.
I am now using Perika.

Bum. Although I suppose it did seem too good to be true at that price!
Maybe I'll order some Healthspan instead - they're cheap but not THAT cheap! Hopefully they'll compare a bit more favourably to the expensive brands.
I just can't afford the Boots one-a-day (well, three-a-day really) ones for much longer, so I really need to switch to a cheaper brand.

How much are you paying for those?

Boots' price is ten quid fifty for 30 (i.e. 10 days worth using a proper dose). Even when they've got a 3 for 2 sale on, that's too much.
Healthspan is six quid (five quid at the moment) for 120 tablets.

If you are willing to shop online you can get a month's worth (well 40 days) of Perika for roughly £9.00 from iherb.com....and I bet you that Perika beats that boots stuff performance wise. Buy in bulk, save on shipping.

I gave into temptation last night and placed an order for Healthspan, so I'll give those a go first.
I've heard good things about Perika, but I had the vague impression it was quite expensive. Ah well, you live and learn.
Thanks

It's actually far cheaper than anything decent (i.e that works) you could find in the shops here in the UK. Which is great because it's also the best I've tried!

Update on the Healthspan: I've been on it for a week and I've noticed I've become more anxious :(
I've heard the Perika isn't the best for anxiety-based depression, having read elsewhere on this board that it causes such people problems.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for good (and ideally cheap!) UK brands? The Boots ones (which I'm told are Kira?) seemed to work quite well, but are overly spendy.
Cheers!

Hi,
iherb.com sell kira $10.00 (£5.49) for 45, the shipping is $20.00 but you will save a lot if you buy in bulk. Just a heads up.

Thanks - I'll give those a go next. I'll finish off this set of Healthspan stuff and see if things improve. I might be reacclimating to their different preparation or something.

bingbong - just a thought, as you haven't actually tried the ValuPak SJW, you could always try them just to see if they work for you...?
It was said above they only cost 99p for 40. So why not try them?

Buzz, not a bad idea. The problem is that I can feel the depression come back when I stop taking SJW, and I don't fancy feeling miserable for a few weeks. I may try it when things get less stressful though.
Healthspan update: had to stop taking it - was clearly not working at all for me.
Boots still have their SJW on 3 for 2 offer so I bought enough to last a couple of months while I make up my mind :)
Cheers

Do you know about www.froogle.com and www.froogle.co.uk where you can search for deals on SJW, or anything else...?
