| |  "GNC hotline offers no reassurance"

Today I phoned GNC's customer service number in the U.S. to ask if they have a response to ConsumerLab's past report that GNC SJW was contaminated with excess levels of the toxic heavy metal cadmium. The response did not inspire any confidence. The customer service representative did not find any mention of the study in their FAQ database and could not obtain any further information. Although he said that GNC products are independantly tested, he admitted that their SJW is NOT currently among the GNC products that are tested for contaminants, after I pointed out that SJW is not on their website's list of independently tested products.
Too bad. Their product worked well for me.
