Hi, I've read a lot of your comments on this product, so I guess I don't really have many questions, but if any of you have any advice on adverse reactions, if I should have them, and when enough is enough, that would be great. I could definitely see myself pushing to the 4th, up to the 8th, week in hopes of change even if I feel like crap or feel torchured along the way! (they do say that it may get worse before getting better)
Other than that, just wanted to share that I started the process and I'll let you know how it goes!
Take care,
Rachel

Sorry for the delay, folks. Unfortunately, after 8 weeks, I did not experience improvement with Amoryn. I am now attempting medication for the first time ever just to get through this hump. I wish you all luck in all that you try and do! Buspar so far did not help my anxiety and I wound up feeling really depressed, sluggish and tired. I just started Celexa today, we'll see how that works... Just want something that will really work to help me through the next 3-5 months!
Take care,
Rachel5

Hi MaryKay3,
Thanks for asking. This is my 18th day now and have been using it faithfully. I can't say I'm having any bad reactions, thank God! I've reached some low places and have "spun out" pretty bad once since taking them, but I did have some extrenuating circumstances (and PMS) and would have responded that way anyway (i'm just happy it's is definitely not making me feel worse!) AND I did notice that I bounced back from my spin out before my situation has been resolved and have been feeling really stable and unstressed (even though it is an extemely frightening for m) and potentially risky situation, financially and relationally, that I'm in). So, I am starting to think it may already be helping (?). Either way, I just ordered my second bottle and definitely find it worthwhile to go to the full 8 weeks before making a final decision on it.
Thanks again for asking. Support through the process of trying new things is so helpful. =) Are you taking anything? Found anything effective that you wouldn't mind sharing?
Take care,
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
Glad to find someone else who is trying Amoryn!
I have just started (yesterday) in the hope that the depression and anxiety that has been with me for the past 4 weeks will lift.

I am combining it with sam-e and a B-vitamin complex as I have heard these are good together.

After my very first tablets I experienced increased anxiety.
I took my pills in the evening and went really really hyper, with loads of energy, but with decreased anxiety and depression.
And then last night I had my best night's sleep in ages, not waking in the night and sleeping all the way through until 6am, a good 7 hours sleep.

Can I ask - how are you getting on with it? What other things have you tried in the past?

Would be great to chat to someone who has gone through a bit of time on the amoryn!

Thanks,
Gareth

Hi Gareth,
Well,I do think Amoryn is helping. It doesn't prevent me from hitting lows or going into anxiety spins but I am seeming to bounce back quicker and better. With a lot going on with my life I think I am doing pretty damn good! However, I still think it is hard to judge because some of the support, help and circumstances in my life are different, too. It is kind of hard to pinpoint which is having the greatest effect. I take supplements, too, including B-complex. Oh, and i've been taking a siberian eleuthero supplement regularly for about two months now. Just got Seredyn in the mail yesterday to try to cut out the anxiety spins. Sam-e was too expensive for me so I only tried it for about two weeks several years ago and didn't notice much of anything.
Hope any of that is useful! I have noticed that I've been sleeping through the night better and a few times I have woken early, I actually fell back to sleep within minute and that never happens with me. I'm either up for a couple hours or don't go back to sleep at all.
Take care and good luck on your amoryn journey. Keep me posted!
Rachel

Keep at it... the effects of Amoryn really snuck up on me, but when Amoryn kicked in the changes were dramatic, if that makes sense. It's not like some supplements or most drugs where you "feel" it the first day you take it, even if it doesn't actually help your depression for many weeks. I really didn't feel anything for the first few weeks except a headache in the first couple days (which went away once I started drinking more water). But then around week four I just realized, "Wait a sec, I am feeling MUCH MUCH better!" And then I didn't seem to improve any more until a few weeks later, when I looked back and thought, "Wow, I'm feeling WAY MORE better than I did a few weeks ago." It seriously is so gradual that you don't even notice it happening, which makes it seem very abrupt when you finally notice. And from my e-mails with the customer support guy, it seems like it worked on the faster side for me... so my advice is to give it a fair chance, because both myself and a friend stuck it out and we're both happy we did. I have read some mixed reviews, but it seems like most people that don't do well with it give up after a few weeks or a month, so who knows?

Good luck! CJ

Hi Rachel,

I'm really glad to hear that Amoryn is doing something for you (we hope!)
For a week now I have been on the following combination:
Amoryn
Vitamin B complex
SAM-e
multivitamin

I intend to combine these with a supplement called GABA, which is meant to be for anxiety, and produces a sensation of calm. So much of beating this anxiety thing is about relaxation I think... have you ever tried any relaxation techniques? I have heard that when you combine CBT with doing all your "relaxation homework" you can get really good benefits within months.

I can't honestly say that I have experienced much change so far but it is only week 1. I have had moments of massively increased anxiety, but they seem to be more linked to the after-effects of having a few glasses of wine! I am having to go tee-total. Never thought that would happen but I guess I just have to get used to it...

One thing with amoryn - I do think it helps me sleep a bit better, as I was waking several times in the night before taking it and that doesn't happen anymore (apart from the one time when I drank alcohol).

For Seredyn... I had a tail-spin of anxiety the other night and took some Seredyn in the middle of the night. It claims it will calm you down in 15 mins but did nothing for me. Perhaps it is more beneficial if you use it every day alongside the amoryn.

I will persevere and let you know if things change over the next few weeks. The one thing about amoryn is that because they say that one side effect is to increase anxiety in the first couple of weeks of taking it, I can sometimes blame my anxiety on the tablets! I am having one of my best days so far today - perhaps it is the effects of the amoryn kicking in...? Perhaps it is because I had one of my worst days so far yesterday and today is just about relief that its not as bad today?!!!

A week on from your last post - I'd be interested to know if you think the amoryn is helping you any more?

Also - have you tried anything else like therapy or counselling or any other things?

be well,
Gareth
