I did get a few headaches when I first started Amoryn. I e-mailed them and they said to drink extra water, and I thought "yeah right, what's that going to do," but I was pleasantly surprised when the headaches went away and never came back. Keep in mind though that the 5% hyperforin in Amoryn makes it pretty potent... this is good, because lots of studies have shown those high levels of hyperforin work as well as many prescription antidepressants. But the strong effect also means that there is a possibility of side effects. From the studies I've read, the St. John's Wort with high hyperforin generally causes less side effects than drugs. But I think many people are used to herbal remedies that almost never cause side effects because they're basically placebos... remember that any remedy that actually works in a good way has the potential to cause negative effects as well. But I'm glad that I handled the headaches and gave them time to go away, because in the long run the benefits really outweighed having a mild headache for a couple days.

Good luck! CJ

I personally had bad side effects from Amoryn. It caused insomnia, tiredness, depression, anxiety and palpitations. Too many B vitamins and other things mixed with SJW.

I have started amoryn in the past couple of days and am really hoping it will work! I notice that the tablets do make me feel different, good and bad...
For instance I have increased depression today, BUT had my best night's sleep in weeks last night after my first course of tablets.
Can I ask - given that amoryn did not work for you, have you found anything that has worked?
I have anxiety and depression, and have had for past month.
Thanks
Gareth

The only brand of SJW that has worked for me is Kira. I tried Amoryn and Perika but neither worked. Good to hear that Amoryn did not cause insomnia with you. For me I couldn't sleep the whole time I was on Amoryn, in the end I had to stop taking it because of the insomnia, anxiety and depression it caused. I had similar effects with Perika, but I think that Perika caused even worse anxiety than Amoryn. Hope Amoryn works better for you.
