"Any bad experiences with perika?" , Sun 20 Feb 11:10:

Just wondered if anyone has had any bad experiences with perika. I recently ordered perika online because of the good write up it had and my experience with it has been very bad. Most people on this site seem to have had positive experiences with perika, which is why I was surprised with the results. I swiched from kira because I felt it was not effective anymore, but only one week on perika and it has caused anxiety and depression as well as insomnia and tiredness. Quite a shame but I guess different tablets work different with everyone. Seems like SJW is not for me anymore.

Apparently some people respond better to hypericin and some people respond better to hyperforin brands....

hard to believe it's causing you all these problems though.

Yes, reading through some other posts I see that perika can indeed cause anxiety, vivid dreams and insomnia.

Dear Word72:
I just wanted to answer your message because I've also been having trouble with Perika. I have been using this brand now for approximately 3 to 31/2 weeks. I will continue it for at least another 3wks., because I also have read all the great results from others on the site. However, it has been a rough ride. Initially I had significant nausea, insomnia, and feeling disassociated from everything around me. This has past, but over the last week I have had severe depression, crying, not wanting to leave the house, worthlessness, no motivation etc. I am wanting this to work so badly that I will hold out a few more weeks. I'm so wanting this to work for you and all of us who suffer with depression. I was on Prozac for several years and won't do that again. Don't give up, keep trying! I will also change brands in a few weeks if this doesn't work. Best of Luck!

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear that perika has not worked for you either. I must say you are brave to persevere with it for so long, I am quitting now after one week, can't stand the side effects, but it's good to know I'm not alone because I've only read positive things about perika on this site. I think Kira is much better as it doesn't produce these nasty side effects such as depression, anxiety, forgetfulness and insomnia. It seems strange to take something for depression which actually makes you more depressed. I was thinking of going on antidepressants, had a bad reaction to paxil once, but maybe something else would be better. Biggest downside to antidepressants is the side effects. What was your experience with prozac?

Hi, My experience with Prozac was really not so bad. I can say that I lost all feelings for sex, but I'm not that sexual anyway (hope I'm not being to personal!). I would get sleepy during the day while I was at work. But the main reason I stopped was the weight gain (20lbs+) and losing hair. I would probably still be taking Prozac if it weren't for this two BIG problems. I have since lost the weight and my hair is somewhat back to my previous thickness. Everyone is different, maybe someone else would think that weight gain and hair loss is no big deal, but I became more depressed. I understand from researching the different depression medications that some people actually lose weight, but most gain. Sorry its not good news.

My experience with Perika has been AWESOME! Anxiety may increase for the first 2 weeks and then taper off and dissapear. I have experienced 2 side effects: My eyes are more sensitive to sunlight and I now wear sunglasses outside. The second is that I have very animated and vivid dreams - which is a fun and cool effect. No nightmares, just awesome dreams.
