Hi everyone out there
I am from the UK and have been taking "Holland & Barratt" St John's wort 300mg standardised extract to contain 0.30% hypericin. I have been taking three powdered capsules daily and this is now week 3 today I have been taking them.
Can anyone recommend a really good brand. Are tablet St John's Wort more effective like "Quest" or "Kira" or will I keep going and see how this brand is doing? I still have the wee negative gremlins creeping into my head. Just want to feel normal again without guilt feelings and be happy again without looking into past events.

Hey castle,
Kira is generally rated as one of the best brands in the UK, but the dosage stated on UK packs is lower than elsewhere. Having said that, it didn't do much for me at any dose, so I switched to Perika, which isn't available off the shelf in the UK, but which worked much, much better.
I ordered it from www.iHerb.com without any hassle at all.
Worth trying a few brands before giving up I would say. Took a couple of months at least before I got sustained relief.

Thankyou very much for replying and sharing your thoughts with me. I think what I will do is have a go at the Kira brand. I realise here in the UK on the packet they say take one a day but I will take three a day to get the 900mg effect. Also I will order some Perika on the Iherb website you gave me to try next if the Kira doesnt work.
I will probably run out of the H&B brand shortly. It has had some effect keeping me relatively calm and relaxed even with negative thoughts entering my head but I would like to feel a buzz of happiness and forget the negativity.
Did you take Kira brand for long before switching?

Hi again,
I took it for about 2 months, thought I recognised some improvement initially, but didn't feel much better in the long run. I take 3 Perika a day, plus one a day of a brand called Kudos, which is available in the UK, but is a kind of raw herb capsule with added extract.
To be honest, I'm not sure which of these is doing the trick, but I feel much better on the whole.
I'm definitely not advocating any one product over another; it's just a matter of finding one that works for you.
