Topic Title: No Success With Kava Kava
| | "No Success With Kava Kava" , Mon 23 Aug 19:38
I've tried four or five brands of Kava Kava and I just can't seem to get that "feeling of well-being" it's supposed to produce. Anyone have any suggestions?

The only Kava Kava brand that worked for me, was Source Naturals. Unfortunately they dont seem to have it anymore on the market. Am not trying Eclectic Institure brand, but with less of an effect as compared to the Source Naturals brand. Good Luck.

well as i know it, kava kava is promoted to help you with relaxation......... me and many other people seem to have achieved a "general sense of well-being" with st. john's wort. i could be wrong though, since i've never really given kava kava a chance.

I read the natives of the South Pacific islands use Kava Kava because it promotes relaxation and "a sense of well being". I'm sure the processed form of Kava available here in the United States is no comparison to the real thing. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get the real stuff.

Try Picamilon, which is GABA and Niacin fused together in the same molecule (this allows GABA to pass through the blood-brain barrier as Niacin acts as a carrier). Years ago the Russians invented this stuff and it's works wonders. It will raise your GABA levels significantly and you'll be sedated, but not drowsy. In fact, if you take it at higher dosages (200-300mg/day) you'll feel energized, yet calm. It also has MAO inihibiting action, so it works depression, too. I just found it last week and I have to admit it's the ONLY supplement that has ever lived up to it's claims. smart-nutrition.net has the best value and there's plenty of info there too. It's pretty amazing stuff.
Btw, if you've tried GABA before and didn't get a reaction it's because GABA has a very difficult time passing through the BB barrier. Essentially, GABA supplements don't work.
P.S. - I do not work for a nutritional supplement company and have no investment in this. Do the research and you'll see that this is legit stuff. Far better than SJW or 5-HTP, in my opinion.

I've found Picamilon to help as well, although I haven't taken it regularly. I never know if it's just my imagination or not, so it's good to hear someone else's experience. Where do you get yours from? I got mine from IAS (International Anti-Aging Systems, or something like that) and would like to find a less expensive source.

Hi, there. I just read what you had to say about picamilon. I have never heard of it before, but it sounds promising. I am currently taking sjw, and wondering if it's ok to take picamilon with it, or maybe once in a while when needed? Thanks for the info. Janna
