Hiya all Im new to this, was just wondering if anyone knew the reason people with possible bi polar/manic depression couldnt take amoryn. if anyone takes it who has bi polar/manic depression please tell me, also if anyone knows what it does if you are bi polar/manic depression id appricate any info! ty

Hi blinkybaby,
I believe it is because an antidepressant can make the "high phase" of a biplor mood swing even higher. Most people who have bi polar/manic depression should probably be taking something that stabilizes the mood swings, instead of dealing with just one side of it. This was explained to me a few years ago by a reader who found the site (before I'd created the message forum). By the way that advice would apply to all brands of St. John's Wort, not just Amoryn.
