| |  "Need advice! Switching to 5 htp from effexor!"

Hi I really need advice from anyone who has switched from 5 htp from effexor/ I have been on effexor for 4 months and it is okay but I am sick of the sexual side effect so want to switch to something natural. the problem is my doctor knows nothing about natural remedies so I need advice on how to proceed. So far I have been taking effexor 275 mg one day and then 300 mg 5 htp the next. It has been okay so far. before this I too effexor 275 everyday.
Has anyone made this switch, can you please please tell me exactly how you titrated? and how you reduced off of effexor to avoid becoming horrifically depressed. When I went off of paxil to effexor i was suicidal from it for a week! I want to be careful and go off of effexor slowly and switch to 5 htp but don't know how to do that. Please send me advice, I would so much appreciate it. I have already begun with every other day, but any ideas of what the hek to do now?
