I started of taking SJW back in October last year, I was using the Nature's Aid brand. I'd bought them because they were on special offer in my local health food shop - buy 1 get 1 free, and each pot had 90 pressed pills at 500mg. I thought this was a bargain, I believe they were standardized to 3% hypericin.
So a week in to taking these tablets at two a day, so 1000 mg a day, and I'm starting to notice some effects. I was getting a funny feeling in my head, subtle but distinct, I don't think it was in my imagination. Having got this feeling I took the pills to be working and just this thought gave me a lift. Over the next week the feeling faded, and I wasn't feeling so happy either, was it more a mental thing? I don't know. Anyway, I kept at it with the pills, even going up to 1500 mg a day, occasionally the feeling would return but soon go. I used up all the pills over about 2 months then ran out. I didn't get any more after, as I didn't think they were having much of an effect overall. I left it three weeks to see if I would start feeling worse, and I didn't, so I decided the brand wasn't helping much.
After reading on here I decided to give Amoryn a whirl. Got some off the web and started just before xmas. A week in and I was definitely noticing an effect, the feeling I was getting in my head was similar to what I had off the Natures Aid but stronger, and left me feeling more relaxed. It even made me go to cry for a little bit, not out of sadness but from a feeling of relief that I was feeling more like my old self. New years eve I went out and got really drunk, a bad mistake I believe. The next morning on looking in the mirror, I noticed my pupils were tiny, like little pin holes, I looked weird an spaced out. Over the next three days I felt kind of high, and strangely quite cheery. On the fourth day I started to feel a bit miserable again, and I didn't seem to have any effect off the SJW for about another week, I think this must have been because of the alcohol I had drunk. I'm just coming up to my third week on Amoryn now, and I do believe it is having an effect, but not like it was at the end of my first week on it. Maybe this has something to do with me battling the flu at the moment. I'll let you guys now how things develope with the Amoryn.
