Topic Title: NIACINAMIDE for anxiety? anyone help
| | "NIACINAMIDE for anxiety? anyone help" , Mon 22 Dec 04:38
I have herd that niacinamide (not niacin) helps with anxity as it bonds the same receptors as the benzo's like xanax and valium. It obviously wont work as good, but i want to try it. I have read that up to x4 500mg a day can be taken!!
Has anyone had any experience with this? what dosage? most importantly did it help and were there side effects?
Thanks alot!

Niacinamide has helped me immensely. It has saved my life recently. It works like a STRONG benzo for me as well as an antihistamine. I only need to take 1/3 of a 500 mg. capsule 2-3 times a day. I wrote a long post to you about it but it didn't go through and I lost the whole thing. GRRRR
If you see this post and you'd like to know more, please let me know.
Take care, Kara

I have used it and it does help with anxiety, takes maybe a week or two to gets results. I took 1 400mg tab per day. I have also used regular Niacin and that helps as well. Thanks for reminding me I think I will go get some tomorrow Its is cheap and helps.

hi -
you might want to try picamilon, which is more powerful for anxiety. It is the product of bonding gaba and B3 together so that gaba can get cross the blood-brain barrier.
I used it for about 6 months before taking a break. It worked well for my anxiety, and also for my depression. However I went back to 5htp as this is the only thing that resolves my sleeping problems to a satisfactory degree (along with melatonin).
