Hello everybody -
was moaning about terrible insomnia on 2 different brands on this forum - GNC standardized and another from WholeHealthDiscoutCenter.com (their own brand). The latter was definitely worse and gave me panic attacks. The former just stopped me sleeping.
Managed to find a German brand here in Chile by Knop laboratories called Anxium (just in case anybody else lives here). It is only the second day of taking this, but I AM SLEEPING. Ok, still not 100% back to my original (but then I was oversleeping before with depression), but I am definitely more calm and stable on this brand.
It may still be pretty early to tell, but I did have an immediate bad reaction to one of the other brands, which I am sure wasn't just in my mind as it felt VERY physical. I am on 2 tablets in the morning and 5htp 50mg.
I am sooo relieved. I really thought i wasn't going to be able to stick out the 6 weeks being so up and down and not sleeping, and had this uncanny feeling that other anti-depressants would have more bad side-effects on me. I felt so desperate - I didn't want to go back to the place I was in before I started on this route, but I couldn't see any solution after trying two different brands.
It just shows it is really worth it to try anything you can think of - switching brands should not be underestimated, even if you're having really bad reactions.
What worries me slightly is this all seems to be a bit of a hit-and-miss game. Also, on the web most places tell you there are no or very mild side effects. What ***p! I can't believe all the studies show this as well. This forum is a testomony to all the effects - good, bad and ugly.
Sorry for another waffle, but am feeling very relieved and hope my experience/weird reaction spiels might help anybody else in the same position.
Who else takes a German brand? What are your feelings?
