I used Kira for a less than week, a few years ago. I really intended to keep it up, as it sounded promising.
However, one day not too far into the box, I got a headache (in my right temple -- like in the movie Pi) like nothing I had ever experienced before, and I blacked out. I didn't pass out, but it was startling enough when I regained my sight. It happened like a pain that I could see, starting out as a black dot and quickly encompassing me. I don't remember what happened after that, other than I stopped taking it. I wasn't taking any other prescriptions at the time.
Anyway, I told a doctor about it recently, and he said it's not surprising, because SJW works by increasing the blood flow to a major artery in the brain, which could easily cause one to black out if the change were sudden enough.
I guess it's like that really good stretch in the morning, which on some occasions makes you woozy. I don't know. Also, my heart checks out fine but if I get up too fast in the morning sometimes I fall down, and I think it has something to do with borderline low blood pressure. Maybe that put me at a risk with SJW.
So if anyone sees him/herself in this anecdote, I hope it helped. For people like me, there might be a better way to increase blood flow to that brain artery.

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you had with SJW, and I wouldn't rule out a connection. But I strongly dispute the doctor's explanation. SJW does not work by increasing arterial flow. Either something got lost in the translation, or you got told a bit of BS.
Pharmacologists don't completely know how SJW work, but it is believed to elevate 2 neurotransmitters in the brain.
