I started having anxiety attacks last May. Normally I would be a party animal and full of fun. I went through the usual things of not wanting to go out anywhere and crying for no reason and wandering why me? I was eventually put on 25mg a day of atenolol beta blocker, which for the last 6 months has been very helpful especially for the social functions. I had got to the point though of not wanting to stay on prescribed meds for ever so filtered myself off them 2 weeks ago. Everything seemed to be going quite smoothly until about 4 days ago when the old nerves started to kick in again plus the tight heavy feeling in my chest, so yesterday I started to take 5HTP which has made me feel a bit spacey and odd so I also added some l-theanine to it today and it has seemed to calm it down a bit. I realise that it is early days for me yet and I am waiting for more side effects to kick in, but I am determined not to let this thing beat me. I have read many of the letters on this site from people who are finding it difficult to leave their homes, and I just want to reassure them that it does get easier. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has had any success with the 5HTP and l-theanine combination.

Kazy Let me know how the L-Theanine works out for you. I've recently heard about this product and would like some feedback on it also

Hi Mickie Just a quick update on my progress so far with l-theanine. It has helped a little bit with the early symptoms of increased anxiety on 5HTP, but I have also reduced my sugar intake. I will keep you updated if there any changes.
