Topic Title: Canadians?

Hi all....
I'm totally new at this and just started SJW yesterday. I have had alot of crazy things happen in my life recently and pretty much all at once. My long time boyfriend and I broke up, my brother left his wife and caused so much anxiety in my family, and my job security is in jeopardy. Anyways, I am looking forward to SJW helping with the overwhelming feelings of loneliness and constant tears.
I bought Life Brand and wondered if any others had any experience with it.
I took 3 pills before bed last night and woke up in the middle of the night with awful heartburn. I guess I will try to spread out the pills more throughout the day.
This is such a wonderful site...It is so helpful and helped me make the decision to try SJW.
Thanks

I am taking a Canadian brand called Natural Factors that states that it is "Hyperforin rich" and contains the following:
St. John's Wort Extract - 300mg (Hypericum perforatum)(which contains the following):
Standardized to contain 0.3% Hypericin (900 mcg per capsule) and 3% of Hyperforin (9mg per capsule).
I have been on it for about a week at 3 caps per day and so far I am having some positive results (knock on wood!). I'm by no means cured or back to even close to where I was, but it has helped make the days at least somewhat bearable. It might have the same effect on you. Let me know how it goes.

Sorry, but i've not tried Life Brand, but i believe it's a good idea to spread the SJW out over the day in two or three doses. Some folks, me included, have to start out at a small dose and gradually build up to a full dose. SJW will upset my stomach if i start at 900mg a day, so i start at 300mg and take a week or so to build up to the 900mg level. I also must take it with a meal. I'm using Nature Made 300mg standardized, three a day, for a total of 900mg. There are all kinds of brands out there. I don't know if that's good or bad, but you'll find plenty to choose from if yours doesn't work to suit you. Sounds as if you've had your share of troubles. Here's wishing you a great Xmas and a new start for 2003. Aways look for the bright side. Sometimes it's hard to find, but it's there. James

I had tried a few other brands before but I feel the effects of Natural Select within hours.

Have been using Jamieson, which recommends as high as 4 1,000 mg (only 200mg Hypericum per tablet powdered extract 1:5) 3 times per day (minimum .3% bioactive). If I do the math correctly that works out to the equivalent of 2,400 mg per day (while this site suggests 900mg/day - do I understand this correctly?). Has anyone had some use of this brand, are there better canadian brands. I have used it with 4 tablets per day for a month with little or no effect, I am now increasing to 6 tablets based on what I have read on this website today.
