Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else in Canada has tried Natural Sources' SJW before? I recently bought a bottle of it for a decent price and it hasn't been that long, not even a week yet. I'm not sure if it is kicking in or not and I intend to give it till the whole bottle is gone before judging.
However, I recently read that SJW that is simply the plant crushed up and shoved into capsules doesn't work as well as other types of SJW. The Natural Sources pills look like exactly that, which is why I ask if anyone has had success with these ones before? Or possibly pills like that? Is there a difference between the crushed and extracted SJW?
And finally, if these are that way, what is a good brand to look for in Canada?

I've been using this brand (it's the one that says Swiss Natural Sources on it, right?) for a little over 3 weeks now. Initially, I thought I was having positive effects. Now, I'm not as sure, but it really is hard to say one way or the other. I would like to try switching brands, but I'm also having trouble finding something to switch to. The only other brand I can find is Jamieson's, and both it and NS have been accused in some studies (mostly run by competing providers) of undercutting the amount of SJW they claim to contain in their capsules.

Whatever brand of SJW you buy, be certain that on the bottle it says STANDARDIZED - and contains "Minimum 0.3% Hypericin (0.9 mg.) I have had good results with the GNC Herbal Plus brand but I don't know if you have GNC (General Nutrition Corp.) stores in Canada. You're right, capsules that contain chopped up SJW are extremely weak and are no substitute for the standardized kind, such as I have described. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but the right kind, standardized SJW isn't very expensive anyway. I suggest that you read or re-read Kelly's Genral Information and Recommended Dosage right here on this website.

Hmm.. the thing is, the bottle -does- say that it is standardized, but yet it just looks like green powder in a clear capsule. It says something about how it is extract, but it really doesn't look like it to me at all because I have no idea why you would end up with a powder when you are extracting it. I think this is one of those bad cases of false advertising... that is why I was asking if anyone else had tried this brand, because based on what it looks like, I don't believe it is the extract despite saying it is standardized and extracted.

I also live in Canada and have seen the Natural Sources brand you are talking about. You are right - it does say standardized but looks to me just like crushed herb. In fact, I've had little luck finding anything but. The two I understand are good brands in Canada (that I've discovered so far) are GNC and Flori. The only problem is that the bottle doesn't say how much hypericin is in each tablet. It's really confusing and frustrating; not to mention, in my experience the people working in the vitamin/herb stores have no idea either. If anyone out there has any suggestions on what kind of SJW to buy in Canada, it would very helpful and very much appreciated.

In regards to your specific request, our product is indeed standardised
for hypericin content. This can be easily achieved through HPLC
methods (high-pressure liquid chromatography), which is how many of the

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has tried Jamieson Ultra Slim Down Carb and Fat burners and eliminators. If so have you had any success on them? Also has anyone heard of any serious side effects that can occur from them?
