Hi,
I have recently started on a SJW brand called Kordell's Advanced Nutrition (St. John's Wort, 2000 Plus). I have been using it for a couple of weeks, only one tablet, 334mg SJW and I haven't really noticed any dramatic results. I was wondering has anyone else tried this brand and if I should up the dosage? It does state on the packet not to exceed the stated dosage(One tablet) and that it should not be used for long periods without medical advice.

Hi,
Most people here are taking about 3 x 300mg a day. For some reason, some brands (particularly in the UK) are wary of recommending higher doses, but that's to do with legislation rather than safety. You really need a higher dose to get any effect.

It looks like Majella is in New Zealand, but I'm noticing that NZ seems to have the same problem as the UK with its dosage recommendations.
While a few people might do OK with 1 standard SJW tablet per day, I think most customers who follow such instructions will be cheating themselves of the real therapeutic effects of SJW. Worse still, it wouldn't surprise me at all that these customers will give up on SJW altogether.
I recently wrote to Healthspan (UK) after I saw their big red warning about "1 tablet -- do not exceed!!!". They wrote back to me and said they are now suggesting to people that "up to 2 tablets is OK". Let's hope other UK and NZ manufacturers follow suit. Eventually we'll get them to recommend 3 tablets

Hi Epyx, have a question for you, we wrote awhile ago about the blackmores brand - which I have found excellent but it is quite expensive so I thought about changing brands, do you know anything about Healtheries brand, according to the bottle they have the same quantities of extract as Blackmores. It is quite a bit cheaper NZ$8.60 for 30 compared to blackmores NZ$18 for 40. I know you knew the supplier of sjw to blackmores so I thought you may know about others, Do cheaper brands necessarily lack quality? anyway I'd appreciate any advice. How are things going for you?
