"Homoeopathic pretorius sam-e" , Wed 9 Oct 22:24

Hi to all
My name is Trizanne and I am new to this site
I live in Melbourne Australia
I had heard great things about SJW & sam-e, however this is all new to me
My GP wanted me to go on SJW
After a visit to my health shop and some research I decided to try sam-e instead
I am really confused because I was given a homoeopathic remedy of sam-e which only contains 25mg s-adenosylmethionine as sulfate/tosylate 6x
I know the recommended does of sam-e is 400mg
After querying this with my health shop I was told that homoeopathic blends work differently because it is absorbed directly into the blood stream instead of the digestive system
I am not sure the sam-e I have is the same as sam-e 400mg
Big diff in the price of both - homoeopathic much cheaper
Maybe I should of just gone for SJW
Please can someone help as I have just come of all antidepress meds and want to get this right
Thanks to anyone that reads this
Trizanne

Hi Trizanne,
I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I've been on the homeopathic sam-e(same dose as you) for a few days and I don't understand how it will work.My understanding of homeopathy is that it is a diluted solution of a substance that in high doses produces symptoms that the dilution supposedly cures. For example there is a type of bark that in high doses produces malaria symptoms but in the homeopathic for cures or aids people with malaria.
If you've been using it for awhile would you mind letting me know if it's working. Have you maybe switched to the pills? If so do these work better? Please post your reply.
Luanna.

dear trizanne, Someone told me Sam-e was good also. I have been on SJW for 3-4wks with very good results and no side effects. I hope someone responds to your question because I would like to know also. elizabethe
