"Nature's Plus - NutriZac (Mood Food)?" , Mon 23 Sep 08:23

I decided to give NutriZac a try after it was recommended on some sites. No one here seems to use it though. I only started taking it very recently and so haven't really noticed any effects yet. It's somewhat expensive, I paid $17 for 90 tablets on sale (Usually like $27). It has standardized .3-.5 SJW at 300 mgs. I only take 2 tablets a day b/c I'm a small sized person...

I noticed that it has all sorts of other stuff along with the SJW. Vitamin B-6, B-12, Zinc, Ginseng, Suma? other wierd things like Schisandra? Feverfew?

Has anyone used NutriZac before? Know of anyone who has? Comments?

This site is awesome btw! Thanks Kelly :D

Hey if I were you I would take the recommended dosage of 3 a day regardless of what size you are. I'm a small size person too and when I first started taking SJW I took 2 a day because I thought it would lessen the headaches but after being on it for a month I noticed no changes at all. My depression never got any better so recently I got back on SJW and took it 3 times a day and on the 3rd day I started feeling better.

Well NutriZac states that the serving size is one tablet a day, unless you consult a doctor. So I was even somewhat hesitant about taking 2 tablets a day. But I went ahead and took two. No real side effects accept some very mild headaches and some fatigue. I've only taken it for about a week now and do notice some difference (I'm much less moody and have fewer negative thoughts), but I don't know if a placebo effect is happening or if the SJW is really working.

But really you recommend 3? I'm about 5'1 and weigh around 100 pounds, so I'm a little wary about taking the full dosage. And NutriZac has a hypericin concentration of between .3-.5 standardized, so its possible I'd be taking in up to 1.5mg daily...

I also noticed some stuff about taking SJW with standardized hyperforin rather than just hypericin (NutriZac only standardizes hypericin) and all this stuff about Vitamin B pills, SAM-E and 5HTP etc...AAHHH to much to think about!!!

Sorry I'm rambling somewhat. But I'd like some advice. In the meantime I guess I'll stick with two tablets of NutriZac a day for now atleast...

Well I say 3 because most brands of SJW say to take it 3 times daily and also they say SJW works when taking 900mg daily. I guess if they say to take it 1 or 2 times a day its ok. You might be getting more mg per capsule if you take it 1 or 2 times a day to make up for 900 mg. Have you ever tried Natures Way brand? They say it has the most hyperforin.

Hi Karla, thanks for replying again.

Well one NutriZac tablet (serving size) is only 300mg a day. So I'm guessing I'll be ok taking 3 tablets...

NutriZac is the only brand I've tried so far. I'll give it a try for another several weeks before I switch over.

Also is it safe to just jump from one brand to another?

Hi! Emerald, did you find that the Nutrizac worked for you? I am using GNC's SWJ and I've been through the entire bottle and it doesn't seem to have made any change or affect on me. I heard about Nutrizac... did it work for you?

Hello, I've used Mood Food on and off for many years and highly recommend it. In my non-medical opinion, you should take 3 tablets in the morning, every day. I've tried 2 before but only really feel better when I take 3 a day. The threshold dosage for SJW is 900mg per day which is three of the Mood Food tablets. I've not noticed any side effects. Thanks and hope that helps!

Hi. The same with the brand I'm taking, Spring Valley. One capsule is 300mg. I'm thinking about trying the Natures Resource brand when I run out of the one I have now. I heard many good things about Natures Resource so I thought I'd give it a try. I don't think theres no harm in switching over to other brands. A lot of people on here have tried many brands but not all brands work for everyone.
