Topic Title: Member's Mark vs Spring Valley

Hi!
Anybody here using the Sams Club "Member's Mark" brand? Any comments on it? I think I like it so far. Seems to work for me a lot better than the Wal-mart "Spring Valley" which I took for about a week but decided to stop taking because if I took two capsules at the same time or within just a few hours apart I would experience shortness of breath, but I do have to say in favor of Spring Valley that I have a problem swallowing pills and I had to open the capsules and mix the powder with some water to be able to take them. Maybe that's why I was experiencing the shortness of breath. The Member's Mark comes in caplets which I can chew without any problem and they don't taste that bad at all. With the Member's Mark I don't get the shortness of breath and even though I have been taking it for just the last four days it seems to relax me a bit. Both brands make me feel as if I had had a small glass of wine, not a drunk feeling just a nice feeling (which lasts a lot longer with the Member's Mark than with Spring Valley). I hardly ever drink and I'm taking a Centrum multivitamin along with St Johns Wort. I suffer from Social Anxiety and I'm very hopeful about this herb, I will give it not just the 6 recommended weeks but more if necessary. I have never ever taken any meds even though I have had SAD all my life but I'm tired of fighting this battle all by myself and this nice site has won me over to give SJW a go. So like I said I started about a week and a half ago after I found this site and read almost every single posting here.
Thank you for everything and I will keep you posted.

I just started taking the Spring Valley SJW 4 days ago and I noticed it taking effect on the 3rd day! I hope it stays this way. This is the only brand I've tried and I take it 3 times a day. Later on I'm going to take fish oil with Omega 3 fatty acids because I heard that it's really good for depression.
Well I hope the "Members Mark" brand continues to work for you. I guess certain brands work good for certain people.

Hi Karla,
I'm glad to hear Spring Valley is working well for you, over all I think it's a good brand. I know somebody else in this forum is taking it and said it works well for him. Based on my experience I think it works well too, I just didn’t like having that shortness of breath but like I said it was probably my fault for taking the powder instead of the whole capsule. Well, as you can see I'm not an expert in this field.
SJW is helping a little bit with the depression and the bad temper but I still have mega problems with anxiety. I'm still hopeful though, after all I'm only into my second week with SJW.
Could you tell me more about fish oil with Omega 3 fatty acids? Also, Do you take any B Complex? There are so many choices that it almost makes my head spin!!! Fish Oil, Kava, Kava, Valerian, Ginkgo, B Complex.....and the list goes on and on, and the worst part is that each choice comes with it's own bag of side effects and restrictions. I wish I had all the answers here. I guess I'm a little bit scared with so many choices and so little knowledge.
Well, take good care and don't give up, I think this SJW is going to help you and me!

Hi Catz,
Well I've been searching Fish Oil for depression on the internet and they say that the Omega Fatty Acids helps cure the depression. Just go to www.google.com and type in "fish oil helping depression" and you'll see alot of sites that talk about it. It also helps with alot of other things like your heart, other kinds of mental problems, memory, etc. I haven't tried it yet but I plan on getting it real soon. It may even intensify the effects of SJW.
I heard that Kava Kava helps calm you down. I once tried SJW complex that included Vitamin B but I didn't notice it helping too much, well it was my fault because I mainly took it 2 times a day since it was giving me bad head aches. The one I have now doesn't contain vitmain B but it's still helping.
Good luck!

Thanks for the information, I'll find out more about Fish Oil.
My main problem is not depression but anxiety but anxiety makes me depressed, LOL.
Thanks again,
Catz
