I'm in Australia and using Herrons which seems to work well, but the dosage does not seem to at all correlate to anything on this website. The bottle tells me each tablet contains 1800mg of hypercium perforatum and to take 3 tablets a day. Can anyone advise me whether this is standard etc??

Yes, it is standard. Each tablet contains 300mg of standardised extract, which is 6:1 concentrated. I use the Herron brand too and I've been getting excellent results too.
