I have the brand Nutra-Life Standerdised Hypericum 2000 plus SJW tablets. It says on the box To help relieve mild anxiety stress and nervious tension. It doesn't say anything about helping with depression. It contains 1.1mg Hypericin and 16.7mg Hyperforin.
Im just wanting to know is this the right stuff and how many tablets should I take if it is.
What other brands do you recomend my trying that can be purchased in Melbourne Austarlia.
Thank you.

Hi, my GP told me today that she thinks I've got moderate clinical depression and to get hold of some SJW. I've bought the St John's Wort 2000 Plus too, haven't started it yet, have you done all the maths to work out the levels etc? Do they come close to the dosages recommended on this site? Is it working? Kijala

I am also an Australian first time SJW user. I am taking the Herron brand SJW 1800. I am also confused about what dosage I should be taking, it recommends three times a day, which is what I am taking at the moment. Herron contains 990 mcg Hypericin & 15mg Hyperforin. Any thoughts about dosage or recommendations on brands would be great!!

hi it is used for depression don't see that advertised much it may be to do with the stigma attached to anything to do with mental problems ironically the brain is by far the most complex organ in the body therefore it is expected to be the one that could cause the most dysfunctions
dosage is another matter, i am still waiting for effect at week 4 i know it has worked before, so i will just wait read lots of posts on this site to get an idea of dosage change brands if needed stick with it medicines from the doctor will work, but the side effects are not nice

I too am an Aussie 1st timer. I bought Herron SJW 1800 that says it relieves the same symptoms as the Nutra-Life. Maybe Aussies don't get depressed, we just get anxious, stressed & tense. Herron contains 990 mcg Hypericin & 15mg Hyperforin.
After browsing this database, I'm confused as to why the levels in Aussie tablets are different to the Canadian. Herron recommends taking 1 tablet 3 times daily, how about the Nutra-Life?
