Hi all im sensitive to all meds with regard to side effects.am wanting to try 5-htp but scared off insomnia getting worse,i sleep a little but wake reguarly..any advice /

Hi I am sensitive to meds also, so its a great worry to try something new. I have used 5htp for 3 years now, i also use it with inositol which has no known side effects. I only take one 5 htp a day but.....found that if i took the tablet late i.e. after 5pm it gave me nightmares so i always take mine in the morning , the inositol i take through the day. We all have our own therapeutic window of doseage, to me one 5htp tab is enough other people take more of course so try a little at a time. It upset my tummy slightly for about 2 days.
Good luck it has been brilliant for me and I have tried quite a few things over the years!
Just out of interest two others I tried and found extremely helpful was ASHWAGANDA AND ALSO RHODIOLA ROSEA.
I try these different things for gereralised anxiety and I have ocd sometimes with it!

I had some success with 5-HTP for a while but after a few months it gave me severe stomach upset. I would approach with caution...
For fast effective profit own a drug company.
