Please help me. I am very, very desperate. I have a chronic gastritis and do not know what to do anymore. I do a very strict diet, acupuncture and hypnosis, take licorice and aloe vera, drink a lot of camomilla tea, try to go very early to bed...some days I feel better, but then these huge disappointmente. Out of the blue I am again where I started: this terrible nausea without an end.
Is there anybody who had success in healing a c.gastritis? I made so much research in German, English and French but there is never much about healing success and experience of people.
Please answer me!
Vicky

I have been using Aloe Vera.....and it has eliminated my gastritis by about 90%. I only get attacks when I am stupid about what I eat.Unfortunately 5-HTP really makes my gastritis worse...anyone have suggestions on what to try? I have tried the enteric coated pills and they are just as bad.

You can try making a food journal. Write what you eat and record the results, that way you can cut out foods that cause you this problem. I am assuming that you don't get gastritis everytime you eat. I know that I can not eat junk food, or anything containing milk, if I do, the pain and bloating will not go away. Are you lactose intolerant? You'd be suprized at the amount of food products that contain lactose.
Best wishes

No. I am only taking a acidity blocker (Aciphex) what helped me first, after 2 weeks, but then this horrible nausea, bloating and burping after meals came back. Please, is there somebody who knows about healing success of gastritis and what to do???????????
I am grateful for every answer. Vicky

Are you taking 5-HTP? If so STOP taking it!!! I had this same problem, and was very confused because I'm very health otherwise, and had bad stomach problems on and off for a month or so before I realised it was the 5-HTP (I re-read the cautions on the bottle- apparently one of the most common side effects is stomach pain and nausea)

Hmmm, sounds like your intestinal balance is all out. Are you eating anything unusual that you don't normally? Taking antibiotics?
I have done a little reading on this topic since I experience similar problems from taking 5-HTP. Regardless of the cause I would recommend taking some Acidophilous supplement (pro-biotics avail from Health Food shops) Basically it puts back some of the good bacteria in your gut to try and redress the balance of good to bad bacteria...apparently there is always good & bad bacteria present but when they get out of balance you experience gastro problems, bloating etc. As far as easing symptoms go, if you're having stomach cramps it might be worth try taking peppermint oil (must be in enteric coated capsules so they get down where they're needed). Also the herb Chamomile (good calming tea) is reputed to help calm digestion and flatulence.
Anyway, hope this helps!

Thank you for your answer. Actually, I am rarely taking any antibiotics. I took it the last time 11 month ago. I am drinking camomile tea now very, very often and peppermint tea since I also heard about there soothing effects. As medication I only take the acid-blocker. The weird thing is that in the morning, when I wake up, the nausea sets in like five minutes later (hardly time to be happy for a symptom free period). Than I feel mild to severe nausea during the day, I fortunately experienced the last two days even a couple of hours per day without nausea. While I eat, I feel pretty good. But then right away starts the burping and the bloating. What are you doing to ease this nausea feeling. Thank you, Inge

I don't have the nausea problems that you do, but I have terrible gas pain when eating certain foods. I can't eat anything with onion or garlic in it (just to name a few). I didn't eat pizza for over 15 years. Then my sister talked me into trying "OMNIGEST EZ". I couldn't believe the difference it made. I used to get cramping, bloating, pain like when you get the flu. I'd break out in a cold sweat, and then have diahrrea. Omnigest worked for me. I take one, or two tablets (depending on how much of the offensive material I will be ingesting) and it keeps the painful cramping at bay. Hope this helps. Good Luck! :)

Thanks for the hint. You know that it shocks me to read that you have not eaten Pizza or certain foods during such a long period. This means, that this something one really has to live with. I got an endoscopy done yesterday: it shows inflammation of the stomach (chronic gastritis), the esophagus and duodenum. Since I am already on diet+holistic medication I can only change the medication. So you have been living with your symptoms for a long time. How do you deal with this? I really have a psycological problem with this. It is so weird that my day is driven by nausea and being unable to eat without experiencing all the symptoms afterwards. Vicky
