Anyone else tried L-Tryptophan? (as opposed to 5-HTP) I've just started on it and although it's only been a few days it seems to be stabilising my mood & lessening anxiety a bit already...Curious to hear other people's experience.
Thanks! Daniel

I've been taking l-tryptophan for a couple of weeks now. Are you taking it on an empty stomach? Sometimes, about a half hour or so after I take it, I feel really buzzed from it. If I eat, the effects go away. It's hard to take it on an empty enough stomach, and to not eat afterwards for a couple of hours. I have to pretty much just take it at night, before bed. I don't notice any other changes yet, except for the effects I feel right after ingesting the l-tryptophan. Does anyone know if taking l-tryptophan is like taking SJW or other serotonergic agents in that it takes a while before the antidepressant effects kick in? If this is the case, does it always have to be taken on an empty stomach, and will eating food too close to dosing diminish l-tryptophan's long term effectiveness?

Hi! I got it from the US on this site: http://vitaminlady.com/
Apparently it has only recently been restored to over the counter status...
