Hello,
I am interested in learning opinions on this medication.
I currently take SJW (Perika) 900mgs a day (2 in the am and 1 in the late pm) and do live with anxiety. I was once medicated with Xanax (.5mgs 2x's a day) for anxiety and have been off it for a while but still fighting it everyday. Every now and then I have taken Valerian for the anxiety but I am looking for something to take as a regular routine along with the SJW or in place of it.
Any views on 5-HTP would be wonderful to hear and also has anyone ever had stomach upset with it as associated with SAM-e. I had to stop taking SAM-e because of the horrible stomach issues and don't want to walk that pathway again...It worded wonderfully except for the stomach problems =(

question -- if you are still reading this thread. did you have any trouble getting off the xanax? xanax is highly highly addictive and getting off it has to be managed carefully. i'm curious because i've been taking xanax on and off for a while and am just so paranoid that one day i might lapse into taking it daily which will be trouble.

They do sublingual 5htp that goes under the tounge, and enteric coated 5htp which means it releases in the bowel instead of the stomach, i would get the enteric coated!
Didnt you use the enteric coated SAMe? that surely would have prevented the stomach probs

Yes, I did purchase the eneric coated tablets and honestly I loved the result with the SAM-e but between the 2nd and 3rd month of it then stomach issues set in and I was doomed...I have read sooooooo much on people having the same result I did - that did make me feel better to know it was the medication and I had to stop it immediately once the ER diagnosed the problem.

Can I get some preferences on what brands you all are using of the 5-HTP and whether you're buying it in stores or online?

Where did you find sublingual 5-htp. I am having a hard/impossible time taking even enteric coated 5-htp due to stomach upset.
