Hi, I was wondering if anyone had trouble sleeping while taking 5htp and sjw? most people mention how 5htp makes them very sleepy. I was sleeping somwhat well while taking just 5htp, but now that I've added sjw, its been sleepless nights. I've only started on 1 300mg sjw for the past 3 days, first thing in the morning, 1-1/2 week 5htp @ 100mg. I also take atenol for hypertension. I was wondering if anyone was going through the same. If taking valarian at night would cause interactions? I seem to be going through more anxiety now too (muscle tension, constatnt worry). Anxiety is my biggest problem/minor depression from what i can tell.
I appreciate any rsponse.

I have had the same problem from mixing 5 HTP with SJW. I took Kira SJW alone and it worked fine for me. But since trying Amoryn, which is SJW and 5 HTP mixed, I've been having sleepless nights. I wake up during the night and cannot go back to sleep, even with the help of valerian, herbal teas or sleeping tablets. I get plapitations and the next day feel very tired and depressed. I don't recommend combining SJW with 5 HTP as they seem to produce too much seretonin which I believe is responsible for insomnia and other side effects.
