I have ADD and am about to go on ADD meds (Concerta or Adderal). Both of these meds have contradictions with MAOIs. She won't give me a script until I've been off 5htp for at least 3 weeks. I didn't think that 5htp was an MAOI. Am I wrong?

As I understand it from just researching on the web (5HTP) MAO are serotonin uptake inhibitors, while 5htp helps the body produce more serotonin - they are not to be taken together. The bottle of 5HTP I just bought has that as a contraindication on the back.
