I'm fairly certain that it's ok to take the two together. I've never heard anything suggesting that there would be a problem. The 5htp itself should help create melatonin in your brain as well as seratonin, so they're the two substances already have a relationship to one another. If you have trouble sleeping, and 5htp doesn't work very well, I'd suggest the slightly more expensive but very effective tryptophan. You know that sleepy feeling you get after a turkey dinner?(sorry if you're a vegetarian) well, that's tryptophan taking hold. It made me extremely sleepy, and I'm sure it would help you sleep. Sara
