Topic Title: is 1200mg SJW and 100mg 5-HTP safe?!?!
| | "is 1200mg SJW and 100mg 5-HTP safe?!?!" , Thu 31 Jul 09:52
I've read a bunch of posts with each person suggesting different doses. And although I know that the dosage will vary from person to person...I was wondering if you guys could just give me some insight on my current dosages:
I'm male, age 22 and weight 140lbs.
I started out with SJW getting up to 1200mg (broken up 600mg twice/day) of GNC standardized SJW and not feeling entirely better I added 100mg of Nature's Way 5-HTP.
I do feel better now (I think due to the nature's way 5-htp i bought last week)...before i felt alright..but not great..
i do have some side effects if they are from the herbs...but for the last two weeks i've had a bit of insomnia even after i take the 5-HTP and get tired, i still cant sleep right away. Also im embarassingly having some gastrointestinal problems.
i've just recently started to feel much better...and am curious though..should i change the dosage still..for example lower the SJW to perhaps 900mg or 600mg and increase the 5-HTP instead? perhaps something such as 600mg SJW and 200mg 5-HTP....
from all the posts i've read....when people combine the two herbs...they usually stick with a lower SJW dosage and increase the 5-HTP.
Thanks.

I Think that we all are trying to answer that question. There seems to be no real right answer. You should stick with the lowest dose that helps you. I take 900mg sjw a day and one 50mg 5-htp in the morning. So far after 8 weeks, It works for me. Good luck. Georgie girl

i feel better..but slightly down at times still..and im having pretty bad insomnia...it takes me about 2 hours to get to sleep...i was thinking i should try to drop the SJW entirely and increase the 5-HTP to 300mg / day ...
do you think that's a good idea?
