I've been taking 50 mg 5-HTP daily for 3 months now and found that although it has significantly improved my mood and my sleep patterns , I definately find it hard to stay organized and I'm really forgetfull most of the time. Has anyone else experienced this? I find it really hard to stay focused and although my mood is always good and I don't have any other side affects I'm wondering if I should stop taking it, or take one tablet every other day. Is there anything else that could improove my concentration that I could take at the same time as 5-HTP?
foggy head

First of all, would you please tell me what brand of 5-HTP you're using? about the loss of concentration i think you may wanna try Ginkgo Biloba to help with this side effect, choose a good brand like nature's way or solaray.

I've been taking Higher Nature Serotone 5HTP. I was depressed for about 3 years and became very paranoid and the 5HTP has really got rid of all that. I've been wondering whether I should stop taking it,especially since i've been finding it hard to focus on work, which has made me feel a bit anxious, but I'm worried I'll feel bad again.
what do you think Frank?
still dozy!

I would not recommend stopping it if you have had such good results. Alot of people have had good luck with Gingko, but I would also say you could try the amino acid L-tyrosine. It's related to norepinephrine and dopamine, both helpful in concentration and alertness. I think Solaray has L-Tyrosine. Good luck. DD
